Mr Mukhtar Ahmad
Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon
Mr Ahmad was trained in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and around the Northeast of England before joining Poole Hospital in 2013. His subspecialty interests are colorectal cancer and pelvic floor disorders for which he offers robotic and laparoscopic surgery. He is currently the lead clinician for colorectal cancer at Poole Hospital. He led the task group that oversaw the establishment of a Surgical Assessment Unit at Poole Hospital, which has improved the quality of care provided to acutely unwell surgical patients

Hobbies
Mr Ahmad is happily married with four children. Away from work he enjoys tennis, cycling, horse riding and reading. He is passionate about improving patient safety in his native Africa and he volunteers on several health partnerships between UK and African institutions.
